
Associate Professor in Audiovisual Translation

Dr. Alejandro Bolanos-Garcia-Escribano is an Associate Professor in Audiovisual Translation at University College London, UK, and holds the title of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). He is also a Member and Chartered Linguist (CL) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL).
Since joining UCL in 2016, Dr. Bolanos-Garcia-Escribano has taught audiovisual translation, Spanish language, and culture, both at the Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS) and the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies (SPLAS). He served as Programme Director for the MSc in Translation & Technology at CenTraS from 2020 to 2022.
Dr. Bolanos-Garcia-Escribano holds a joint BA Hons in Translation & Interpreting and Humanities Studies from Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain), an MA in Literary Translation for the Publishing Industry from the University of Malaga (Spain), as well as an MSc in Audiovisual Translation and a PhD in Translation Studies from UCL.
